WHY TIGER TEA ?
In the early part of the 20th century there was an American newspaper cartoon strip called Krazy Kat created by George Herriman. The strip featured the antics in Coconino County and a wonderfully strange love triangle between the characters Krazy Kat, Ignatz Mouse and Officer Pup. I fell in love with the strip when I first saw the reprints in the 70s and remain a Krazy Kat fan to this day. One of the running storylines was about Krazy Kat discovering a bag marked “TIGER TEA”. When she brewed & drank a cup of this elixir, she was no longer a meek cat but felt herself to be a big roaring tiger. Likewise, when Tiger Tea was given to a worm, he thought himself to be an anaconda – and so on.
In January 1999 the company I then worked for expanded and offered me a choice: move to London to manage part of the company or take a voluntary redundancy packet. Having moved to Sussex just four years previously in order to get out of London, I chose the redundancy. With my experience in event managemen and the redundancy money, I decided to set up my own business and follow my dream to work with outdoor festivals & events.
That was scary.
All on my own, going out into the big business world and branching into a new field of event management. But I wasn’t going to be meek about it. Certainly not. I was going to have a cup of tea!
And Tiger Tea was born.
Let's brew a cup of Tiger Tea and make your event roar !
